The purposes of District Thirteen shall be:

to promote membership in the local chapters and TRTA;

to provide leadership to and communication with the local chapters;

to encourage retired school personnel to give voluntarily of their time, talents, and experience in furthering the educational and civic endeavors in the community, the state, and the nation;

and to afford opportunities for united action in solving problems relative to the needs of retired public school employees.

District 13 Fall Conference was held Wednesday, September 15, in San Marcos. Over 100 members from the 14 Chapters in District 13 were in attendance. The new District 13 standing banner was revealed. In support of the TRTA President's theme, "Add Your Piece to the Puzzle", D13 President Joe Ramirez had planned a group activity involving puzzles.
Representatives from TRS and TRTA also addressed members. This is an election year for Texas government and the focus of TRTA is to increase membership; get members to vote; and to meet with newly elected State Legislators for chats about the needs and goals of retired public school teachers and employees.
District 13 Committee chairs spoke briefly on the business of the District and efforts to support TRTA priorities. Jan Robin presented the Memorial Video and the new Technology Chair, Randy Moczygemba, demonstrated how AI can make the management of digital projects, such as Chapter Directories, so much easier.
